To be able to practice as an architect, graduates of the architectural study program are required to register as a member of the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) and take an apprenticeship program issued by the IAI. After graduating from the apprenticeship program, the prospective architect can finally hold the title of Young Architect and have the right to practice architecting; an activity to produce Architectural works which include planning, design, supervision and/or assessment for buildings and their environment.

There are two degrees that allow you to pursue a career in this field: Bachelor degree Landscape Architecture (BLA) and Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture (BSLA). These titles often take four years to complete and be offered in programs accredited by the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Agency (Laab). After you get your title, you will be able to get a landscape architect certification. This certification is issued by the Landscape Architecture Registration Board Board. To get certification, you must sit for an examination of landscape architect registration (lare). You also need to have work experience with licensed landscape architect supervision.
